April 28, 2021 Prost Is a German-Inspired Beer Hall Near City Market at O

Traveling to Europe might not be practical right now, but a pint at newly debuted Prost is the next best thing. This self-proclaimed “Bavarian food hall” boasts a list of tasty German-inspired bites, imported European brews, and an indoor-outdoor setting with enough space for everyone.

Make a reservation for a table in the taproom or grab a picnic table out in the German beer garden, complete with heaters for those brisk D.C. evenings. Then browse the beer list for a Kolsch from Cologne, a Helles Lager from Germany, or a Pilsner from Saxony. Complement your suds with a few small plates, a sandwich, or an entree. Try the warm Bavarian pretzel with mustard and cheese or the classic chicken schnitzel crowned with cabbage and caramelized onions. You can also enjoy a full platter of the schnitzel, wurst, or spaetzle. Note that guests are expected to wear face coverings any time they aren’t sitting and eating or drinking, and reservations are capped at two hours.
